Who are we?

Welcome Readers!

This is a new blog about Islamic daily life, and important questions you always wanted to ask.

Simple, honest and understandable. No bookish explanations - you got enough great books if you want to read them. No judgmental "haram police" attitude - we are all people and we all make mistakes. No stupid questions - there is no such a thing as a stupid question. Not to ask and assume, that's what's stupid.

And why do we think we may have the answer to some of your questions? Because probably we have been there. We represent different generations and different cultural backgrounds.

We know how it is to be 20 and feeling totally lost. You got plenty of questions but nowhere to find the answers. Parents? Their answers might work for them, but not for you. Friends? Even more lost. Uni teachers? Maybe about their subject, but nothing more. Mosque? ... Yet it's your life and you need to find your own answers in a way you understand.

And we know how it is to be 40 and having worked half of your life according to a system that does not exist anymore - and trying to find your own answers finally, definitively. People say it's midlife crisis, that you should be only thinking of your children now, but you have enough experience and knowledge now to be strong enough not to accept anything anymore but truth - for the children too. You need to talk to people, not to be closed inside your bubble and step by step find your own way.

We know how it is to grow up Muslim in a non-Muslim (or even sometimes islamophobic) country. There are your parents and the mosque in one side, the society on the other, and you just want to be yourself. You are criticised for being "too Western" from one side and "too Muslim" from the other. You are mostly comfortable with your age group, no matter where they are from - most of them are colourblind. Or with seekers of truth of any background, any age.

We also know how it is to look around and see people living according to general customs and ways while they don't even know why they are living that way. You have big questions and no one knows the answer. "Don't think just believe", "live for today and forget everything", "don't do that, what would the people say?!" None of them makes you feel alright. Then something grabs your attention. Is it possible to live in a different way? Let's wash this gold out of the mud, it's really precious! Well, it's harder than you thought, and it's ongoing...

If any of the above resonated with you, this blog is written for you. And if not, there might coming up many different questions, so keep following!
